Stay at a historic clifftop hotel in Overstrand

Sea Marge Hotel occupies a Grade II listed Edwardian mansion overlooking the North Sea in Overstrand, on the Norfolk Coast. Originally built as a private seaside residence in the early twentieth century, the hotel retains much of its historic character, with elegant interiors, landscaped gardens and a peaceful position above the beach. The seaside town of Cromer is around two miles to the west.

The hotel offers 25 individually furnished en-suite bedrooms, including larger suites and rooms with sea views. Guests can enjoy breakfast, lunch and evening dining at Frazer's Restaurant, while the bar and outdoor terraces provide places to relax with views across the coast. Five acres of landscaped gardens surround the property, with terraced lawns descending towards the coastal path and beach. Dog-friendly accommodation is also available.

From the hotel's gardens, visitors can reach Overstrand Beach and the Norfolk Coast Path, which follows the coastline through the village. Walk west towards Cromer, with its traditional seafront and historic pier, or explore the coast eastwards towards Mundesley. Sandy beaches, coastal cliffs and open views across the North Sea make this stretch of coastline particularly rewarding for walking.

Nearby Cromer offers independent shops, cafés and attractions including Cromer Beach and Cromer Pier. The town also has a railway station with services to Norwich, providing an alternative to travelling by car. With direct access to coastal walking routes, extensive gardens and the surrounding Norfolk Coast National Landscape, Sea Marge Hotel makes an attractive base for a relaxing seaside break or a longer stay exploring North Norfolk.
