Walk the Weavers’ Way

The Weavers’ Way is a 61-mile / 98 km long-distance trail running from Cromer on the Norfolk Coast to Great Yarmouth, crossing Norfolk through countryside, river valleys and the wetlands of The Broads National Park.

Beginning at Cromer, the route heads inland from the coast through the countryside of North Norfolk. Much of this northern section follows quiet lanes, tracks, paths and sections of former railway as the trail makes its way towards the Broads.

Further south, water becomes an increasingly important part of the landscape. The route passes through the Broads, where rivers, reedbeds, grazing marshes and open waterways create a noticeably different walking environment from the farmland and villages further north.

Along the way, the Weavers’ Way connects towns, villages and rural landscapes around Aylsham, North Walsham, Stalham and Acle before continuing towards Great Yarmouth and the coast. The route provides a cross-section of Norfolk away from its better-known coastal trails, linking inland countryside with the wetland landscapes of the Broads.

The terrain is generally gentle, with much of the route following relatively flat paths, tracks, former railway lines and quiet lanes. Its combination of countryside and wetland landscapes makes the Weavers’ Way a different experience from the Peddars Way and Norfolk Coast Path while remaining accessible for multi-day walking.
