Chalet de Maljasset, Maljasset – Alpine Chalet on the GR5, French Alps

Positioned in Maljasset along the GR5 in the French Alps, it provides a well-placed stop for walkers moving through this high mountain section of the route, with direct access to open valleys, alpine passes, and remote terrain.

The GR5 passes through Maljasset as it follows the upper Ubaye Valley, continuing south toward Col de la Noire and Larche (Col de Larche) on the Italian border, and north toward Maurin and the high passes of Col Mary and Col du Longet. This section is defined by wide alpine landscapes and a strong sense of elevation and exposure, offering one of the more remote and dramatic stretches of the route.
