Feature Terms & Conditions

Effective Date: 1 July 2025

These Terms and Conditions (“Agreement”) govern your inclusion (“Feature”) within Self Guided Travel, published by ahchoo (“we”, “us”, “our”).

By submitting your details and completing payment via Stripe, you agree to these Terms.

1. About Self Guided Travel

Self Guided Travel is an independent publisher focused on landscapes, routes, and the places shaped by them across the UK and Europe, in both digital and print formats.

We feature independent businesses and organisations that support time spent within landscapes.

We prioritise:

• walking and route-based services
• low-impact, nature-based activities
• independent places to stay
• organisations connected to landscapes and heritage

We do not include mass tourism chains or services that conflict with responsible travel values.

2. Nature of Inclusion

A paid Feature provides inclusion within Self Guided Travel.

Features may appear:

• within landscapes, routes, and destination pages
• across the website
• within print publications where relevant

A Feature may include:

• business name and logo
• images
• descriptive text
• website link
• relevant information

Self Guided Travel acts solely as a publisher.
We are not a booking agent, intermediary, or tour operator.

3. Subscription & Payment

Payments are processed via Stripe.

Features are billed annually unless agreed otherwise.

The standard fee is £99 per year (subject to change).

By completing payment, you authorise automatic renewal unless cancelled before renewal.

Fees are non-refundable once a Feature is live, except where required by law.

Features typically go live within five (5) working days after payment and receipt of content.

We may suspend or remove Features if payment fails.

4. Responsibilities

You agree to:

• provide accurate and lawful information
• hold rights to submitted content
• maintain a working website or contact method
• notify us of significant changes
• operate responsibly within your environment

5. Eligibility

By submitting a Feature, you confirm that you:

• operate a genuine business or organisation
• are authorised to represent it
• do not misrepresent your services

We may decline or remove Features that do not align with our standards.

6. Editorial Control

Self Guided Travel retains full editorial control.

We may:

• edit content for clarity and tone
• format Features for design
• position Features where relevant
• refuse Features that do not align

We do not alter factual business information.

7. Term & Cancellation

Features remain active for the paid period and renew automatically unless cancelled.

Cancellation prevents renewal but does not refund the current term.

We may remove Features without refund if they breach these Terms or harm the publication.

8. Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of submitted content.

By submitting content, you grant ahchoo a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use it across:

• the Self Guided Travel website
• print publications
• social media
• related editorial and promotional material

This applies during the Feature period and for archive use.

9. Limitation of Liability

Self Guided Travel is not responsible for:

• bookings or transactions
• business performance or visibility
• technical interruptions beyond our control

Liability is limited to the amount paid during the current term.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

By submitting your details and completing payment, you agree to these Terms.
